CYNTHIA J. (FOWLIE) WILLEY 



 OLD TOWN - Cynthia J. (Fowlie) Willey, 61, passed away Oct. 16, 2006, unexpectedly in Amman, Jordan. Cynthia was born July 9, 1945, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Cass) Fowlie. She was a 1963 graduate of Maine Central Institute. She was employed at the University of Maine - Orono Bookstore for several years before her marriage to James Willey of Old Town in 1974. She resided with her husband and son, Shawn, in Ashland and Mapleton from 1976 to 1995 before returning to the Old Town area in 1996 after her husband's retirement from the Maine State Police. She recently moved to Amman, Jordan with her husband, who is currently involved with the training of Iraqi police. Cindy was an avid photographer and enjoyed traveling throughout Maine, particularly the coast and its lighthouses. She and her husband operated a booth at a Searsport flea market from 2000 to 2004 where she enjoyed meeting the many people visiting the area and dealing in collectibles. She is survived by her husband, James Willey currently of Amman, Jordan; her son, Shawn Willey of Hancock; stepson, Christopher Willey and wife, Stacy, of Broadbrook, Conn.; stepson, Todd Willey and wife, Tammy, of Presque Isle; stepdaughter, Kimberly Veneroni and husband, Gino, of Magnolia, Texas; six grandsons and one granddaughter. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Pittsfield Cemetery, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to I Will Organization, P.O. Box 611, Newmarket, NH 03857. This is research for a very rare disease called mitochondria disorder.
